Pretty okay campaign with kickazz soundtrack, the best in the series. Making your own skirmish is also incredibly annoying. Usually unique, but not entirely distinct and some are just way better than others. Relies on Commanders who are incredibly rare to find via drop. Engineer units are wildly different in what they do and as a result suck azz. Ambulances (US), assembly points (UK), and some other stuff for the other armies are excellent additions. Everyone goes left and right, claiming OKW is far too strong or Soviet Union is so OP (all factions suck and need some unique balancing a-la CoH 1 style). Graphics-wise, it looks more polished but not as realistic. Game is more fast-paced because animations are faster.

BEAUTIFUL campaign, with amazing soundtrack to boot. I don't know why CoH 2 had to complicate stuff. Joining a game or making your own was FAR less complicated the menu and game UIs were easy to understand, plus switching locations in the game was SO clear. Imo CoH1 is a much more 'deadly' game then 2. It depends on what you prefer in a competitive rts. there are also a lot more mods for the game that add tons of units, overhauls the game to different eras, better textures etc etc. Doctrines actually determined the way you played and everyone had the same stuff. CoH1 is more defensive game, since all factions get multiple forms of defense. ALL Engineer units could build the same defenses. America was a spam army that encouraged you to keep your men alive, Wehrmacht was the defend now, destroy later army, UK was Spamalot army, and Panzer Lehr proved its superiority once again. Even graphics don't look that bad (or even inferior) compared to CoH 2's graphics.
